		<description><![CDATA[&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Other than Sundays' exercise in batting impotence the Jays have averaged 6 runs scored per game during the past eight games!&nbsp; Miraculous.&nbsp; Where has this timely hitting been all season?&nbsp; They've even managed the odd late-inning long ball (Zaun).&nbsp; And, as it has been all season long, the pitching has been terrific.&nbsp; Less than 3 runs allowed per game over THE STREAK.&nbsp; And the defense (2 picks on Sunday)!&nbsp; What more can be said?&nbsp; I'm going out on a limb now.&nbsp; Watch the Jays chase the Rays &amp; the Twins (not the BoSox) for the wild card spot!&nbsp; Could be an exciting finale to an otherwise lacklustre season.<p><a href="http://www.torontobluejaysnews.com/thebird/weblog/3850/why-the-jays-will-compete.html">Continue reading "Why the Jays WILL compete"</a></p>]]></description>
